Camino Cool is designed to assist pilgrims and hikers on the Camino de Santiago by providing updated information about facilities on the way, such as water sources, toilets, and accommodations. You agree to use the service responsibly and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

3. Accounts

To access certain features of Camino Cool, you may be required to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Contributions and Content

Camino Cool relies on contributions from its users to provide up-to-date information. By submitting content (such as updates on water sources, toilets, or accommodations), you grant Camino Cool the right to use, distribute, and display that content within the service. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the information you provide.

5. Payment

Camino Cool is a free service. However, we may introduce premium features or content in the future, which may be subject to additional terms and conditions.

6. Intellectual Property

Camino Cool retains all intellectual property rights to the software and technology used to provide the service. All content submitted by users remains the property of the users, but by submitting content, users grant Camino Cool the rights to use that content as outlined in Section 4.

7. Use of Data Licensed Under the Open Database License (ODbL)

Some of the data provided on or through Camino Cool is sourced from OpenStreetMap, and is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL). This means that you are granted certain rights to use, modify, and share this data, subject to the terms of the ODbL.

The following types of data on Camino Cool are subject to the ODbL:

  • Accommodations: Locations and some details of accommodations.
  • Water Fountains: Locations of public water fountains available along the Camino.
  • Toilets: Locations of public toilets available along the Camino.

As required by the ODbL, we provide the following attribution for the data used on our platform:

"The data included in this website is from www.openstreetmap.org. The data is made available under the Open Database License (ODbL)."

When using, modifying, or sharing ODbL-licensed data, you are required to comply with the terms of the ODbL, including providing appropriate attribution and sharing any modifications under the same license.

8. Your Data and Licensing

In addition to the data sourced from OpenStreetMap, Camino Cool provides additional data that is created, owned, or licensed by us. This data is subject to different licensing terms as described below:

  • Your Own Data: Any data that you create or submit to Camino Cool (e.g., contributions, reviews, personal information) remains your property. By submitting data, you grant Camino Cool a license to use, display, and distribute it as outlined in Section 4.
  • Proprietary Data: Any data that Camino Cool creates or aggregates (e.g., internal analytics, proprietary datasets) is owned by Camino Cool and is not subject to ODbL. This data is protected by intellectual property laws, and you are granted limited rights to access and use it as per the service's terms.

Important: Only the data specifically identified as being under the ODbL is subject to the Open Database License. All other data on Camino Cool is covered by separate licensing terms as described above.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate your account and access to the service at our sole discretion, without notice, if you breach these terms and conditions or engage in behavior that we deem harmful to the Camino Cool community.

10. Limitation of Liability

Camino Cool is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. In no event shall Camino Cool be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

11. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Europe. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Europe for any disputes arising out of or relating to these terms and conditions or your use of the service.
